Hi my name is Sebastian!
I completed my Masters of Physical Therapy and Bachelors of Kinesiology at the
University of British Columbia. During my time at UBC, I gained invaluable
experience with many local organizations including UBC Recreation, Special
Olympics BC, and ICORD’s PARC Program. PARC researches the impacts of
exercise in the spinal cord injury population. My passions for healthy living and
exercise are what motivated me to pursue physiotherapy.
My treatment-style incorporates an active therapeutic approach for patients
through hands-on manual therapy, rehabilitative exercise, soft tissue techniques,
IMS/ Functional Dry Needling, goal setting, and education. My previous work
experiences fostered a special interest in foot, ankle, Achilles, and ACL rehab as
well as running assessment and injury. I also have a personal interest in cycling
and triathlon rehab.
I moved to Edmonton from Vancouver and am excited to start a new adventure in
Alberta. I am a die-hard Canucks fan and always love discussing the latest
hockey news. Outside of work you can find me running or cycling on the trails (of
course stopping and petting every dog I see), training for my next triathlon,
walking my dog, and sampling every coffee shop Edmonton has to offer.

Hey Edmonton, my name is Michelle, and I am a physical therapist who is here to help you reach your rehab goals and guide you to pain free, functional movement. I am a graduate of the Physical Therapy program from the University of Alberta, and prior to studying in Edmonton I attended University in my hometown of Windsor, Ontario completing a Bachelor of Human Kinetics.
I provide treatment for a variety of orthopedic injuries and conditions, to patients of all ages. Whether you have injured yourself during a sport related activity or in your everyday life, I would love to help you determine the root cause of your injury and guide you through your rehab process.
I take particular interest in treating dancers, as I have twenty-seven years of dance training and experience. My love of dance started at the age of three and developed over the years through competitive dancing, teaching and dancing aboard cruise ships professionally. I currently stay active in the Edmonton dance community by teaching adult drop-in classes and taking class myself. My goal is to help dancers manage a current injury, prevent further injury & understand how to create longevity in their dance journey.
My treatment techniques include education, exercise, functional dry needling, and hands on therapy. You will also be provided with a specialized home exercise program to aid in your rehab process. My approach to physiotherapy is similar to that of a dance instructor, where I am here to provide you with advice, knowledge and encouragement! Alongside my guidance, your own commitment to your recovery will be essential to your success.
Michelle is also certified in Clinical Pilates and is passionate about providing this unique service in a rehab setting. She utilizes the reformer, tower and mat Pilates equipment in order to provide a graded core exercise program to rehab an injury, enhance performance and improve overall strength/mobility. This type of treatment is a great option for the Edmonton dance community as dance requires such complex choreography and movement patterns.

As a graduate of MH Vicars 2200-hour, 2-year, Registered Massage Therapist program, I feel as though I have found my calling. I’ve always enjoyed working with people and helping them find a solution to what ails them. Massage has given me the skills and knowledge to help; even more so now.
I strive to incorporate relaxation into every treatment, even the deepest, most therapeutic treatments are most effective when the tissues are relaxed. I know first hand how frustrating an injury can be, especially when it takes you away from what you love to do. By creating an individualized treatment plan for each client, we can work towards alleviating your discomfort.
Currently I offer several types of therapeutic massage, such as relaxation, deep tissue, pre/post-natal, joint mobilization, trigger point release, lymphatic drainage, TMJ and dynamic cupping. Continuing education is incredibly important to my practice and learning new techniques to incorporate into treatments, as well as staying current with industry standards.
Massage is beneficial for both your physical and mental health. Even people who are focused on the physical benefits say they feel less stressed after receiving a massage. By increasing circulation, decreasing muscle soreness and joint stiffness, improving sleep quality, strengthening the immune response, elevating energy and decreasing anxiety; massage has something to offer everyone.

My involvement with sports and movement first started out by playing ACAC Soccer with Concordia University in Edmonton, where I played for three years before completing my Bachelors of Physical Education at the University of Alberta in 2011. My work as a personal trainer at Millennium Place in Sherwood Park ignited my love for human movement and optimizing function, leading to a three-year journey at the University of Western States, where I completed my Doctor of Chiropractic and Masters in Science of Sports Medicine.
Since graduating, I have worked with numerous athletes from a wide variety of ages and experiences, one of my most memorable being my time with the BCHL’s Vernon Vipers.
Throughout my career, I’ve found myself most fascinated with faults of the feet and developmental kinesiology. Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) - how we breathe and brace - has become a pillar of my practice, a lens of how to observe and analyze human movement. Assessing functional movement patterns while taking into account the nervous, muscular, lymphatic, skeletal, vascular systems and of course, mental or emotional states are all considered important in my practice.
On my rare days off, I’m at my happiest when I’m biking, climbing, running, snowboarding and playing in the beautiful Canadian Rockies. Otherwise you’ll find me trudging along with my son and doggos in our lovely River Valley.
